Having learnt that the office of Attorney General at Hong Kong will shortly become vacant by the retirement of Mr. A'Malley, I have the honour to lay my name before your Lordship as a candidate for that appointment.
As I have recently in a former Application submitted to your Lordship a statement of my services I would on this occasion but ask your kind consideration of the following facts.
I entered the service in December 1853 and have since occupied uninterruptedly various offices connected with the Courts of Judicature
